Our first trip to Mexico commended.
With gratefulness we greet our dear brothers in Christ:
Since May our commending church Laurel Bible Chapel Spanish group and us have been preparing for our move to Mexico, they gave us a very warm farewell dinner, it filled our hearts.
There was still so much to take care of with so little time, but little by little we began to see some progress. Finally after sending our furniture we set the date for our departure, we had plenty of prayed over our road trip, plus our Father God had provided a great Chevrolet Silverado 2005.
We started our trip, Julie ( my wife) myself and our cat pet Moka. All went well until the third day of trip, we were stop by oficial (6), with an excuse that we were missing a permit they searched all of our pockets, bags and stuff, gathered the monies we carried, and took it away from us, we tried talking them out of that decision unsuccessfully. There was nothing more we could do at that moment but move forward to the next city, but before we arrived to the next city, there was another check point.
Here as soon as these officers realized we had no money, they proceeded to remove the vehicle from us. I tried to talk them out of it, and realized this is not looking good, plus we were in the middle of nowhere, with our cat, and no monies. So we turned to our Father God, asking for His grace and wisdom. The officer then ordered me to put my vehicle in a specific garage, with all our personal stuff and suitcases. And we were to take a bus heading to Culiacán pay $2000 dollars, they would give us 10 days to come back and retrieve our suitcases, but we were not going to recuperate the vehicle neither the open trailer. When he explained all that, my wife began to video them, as soon as they realize they were being video, they calls us back an announced that for this time and this time only they were going to let us go with our vehicles back north to San Diego. We were so amazed to see how fast the Lord was aanswering our prayer and our prayer supports. We thank them and overall our gracious Father in heaven. We were now heading back north. Now, God had answered another prayer: Julie was taking some offerings in cash to her mother Leticia in Guadalajara, neither of the three groups that stoped us on the way, searching us through found this money! So on our way back, with mom Leticia's permission and our elders we were able to make it right back to San Diego safe and sound. We were very shaken and sadden, but resting on God’s perfect providence and guidance.
We believe our Father God was delivering us from greater danger, right on that same state where we were stoped, just entering Sinaloa, about 300 causualties had occurred that same weekend, caused by cartel confrontations.
The new advise is to fly right into Guadalajara and our Elders asked us to stay two more weeks before flying out. We are now selling our vehicles and tools, to recuperate some money.
We wanted to share how the Lord has guided and provided safety for our lives. Our hearts are filled with thankfulness for all the support and prayer from all our brethren. Thank you a millón.
In His Grace: Jose Luis and Julie.
