October 2023

Dear praying family!

Please grab a cup of coffee and get ready to browse through the assortment of pictures and video clips prepared for you here

As you’ll be seeing in our pictorial report, we had an assortment of ministry activities in October. First, we had a sweet celebration of our assembly’s 34th anniversary, and then we headed to Medellin, Colombia, where three of Hogar de Esperanza’s workers received an incredible training called TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention). Upon returning to Peru, we led 15 folks to the Peruvian jungle to complete the building of a new chapel facility in the community of Ricardo Palma. And then, just as we made it back and were eager to breathe a bit, we got called along with the rest of the orphanage board to invest many days running to the police station and the public registry. All this because a new and more determined encroachment of the orphanage land had come to a critical point.

The more we went back and forth between the public registry and the police precinct, the more we learned that the issues we were dealing with were very irregular in nature. Providentially, on the day the orphanage celebrated its 22nd anniversary, the Lord led us to speak on

Proverbs 23:10-11 Do not remove the ancient landmark, nor enter the fields of the fatherless; For their Redeemer is mighty; He will plead their cause against you. These promises have emboldened our cause. And just as we thought we had hit an insurmountable wall, the Lord provided an experienced lawyer in public registry issues, a lioness, and a mature believer. In less than a week she allowed us to make great progress in securing documents from the public registry that otherwise were kept purposely hidden from us. How ironic, we thought it was the public registry.

Yes, we came to the end of the month with our minds distracted with themes sprinkled with elements of corruption we would much rather stay away from. Yet to defend our cause, we must press on with fear, trembling, and complete trust in the Lord. Your prayers are much appreciated!

We have so much more you’ll be able to see in sequential format in our pictorial report.
