About Us

My given name was Ruth Elizabeth Tucker Musumali but most of my friends and family call me Ruthie! I am the oldest of five siblings. I grew up with the blessing of Christian parents. My parents were commended to serve in Turkey when I was 1 ½ years old and we lived there until I was 8 years old. Once we moved back to the states we lived in Kentucky and it was there I trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I knew about the Bible and clearly heard the Gospel from infancy, but it wasn’t until late one night as a 9 or 10 year old I began to wonder if I had a relationship with Jesus Christ, and it was clear to me that I did not. It was that night I thanked Him for the gift of salivation and believed that He died on the cross for me. After living in Kentucky for 5 years our family moved to Tampa Florida where I have lived until now. I attended 56 Street Chapel in Tampa Florida. I always loved to work with children, when it was time to decide on a career path- I knew it would have children as the focus. I worked at a learning center and through that opportunity I applied for a grant that had an early childhood education focus. After graduating from the University of South Florida with my degree in Early Childhood Education- the Lord provided a job in the public school system teaching Kindergarten. I was there for 2 years. During those 2 years I struggled with the inability to publicly teach kids about the eternal hope that I have; in addition to some other conflicts it was clear to me that I needed to leave the public school system. I resigned after completing my second year all the while asking the Lord for clear direction to where He wanted me. The summer I resigned I heard about the possible need at Sakeji Mission School in Zambia at least four different times from various friends and acquaintances. I did some research myself and asked select believes to pray with me as I began to talk to the Sakeji staff about the possibility of joining them in Zambia. Sakeji asked me to come for the last term of 2016 to help in various classrooms. After about 6 weeks at Sakeji Mission School I believed the Lord wanted me to stay longer and I have committed to teach the first grade class for as long as the Lord leads. I was commended to the Lord's work, as a teacher, to Sakeji Mission School in 2017 by 56 Street Chapel in Tampa Florida!

In January 2022 I married a wonderful God fearing man named Josiah Musumali! We met at Sakeji Mission School when I first visited the school, but the Lord started changing things between us around 2020/2021! We both love the Lord and desire to be used for His glory! We also have a burden for the work at Sakeji School, as well as, the surrounding community. Josiah is gifted in language abilities and being a Zambian national his desire to help and teach amongst the rural local assemblies is an answer to prayer! Josiah and I were commended to the Lord's work in full time service by Lusaka Gospel Hall in April 2023!

Please pray with us as we continue to seek the Lord's will in teaching, preaching, and hospitality. Mail will not make it through to us however we do get emails, if there are no storms! My email address is [email protected] or [email protected]. Josiah's email address is [email protected] and we would love to hear from you! I am also on Facebook under the name Ruthie Tucker Musumali. We appreciate and value your prayers!
