Klein, Jesse & Emily
About Us
Jesse Klein: I was blessed to be raised in a home that loved the Lord and respected His Word. I knew from very young that I was a sinner on my way to Hell. Many times I heard the good news of salvation through the finished work of Christ on the cross. At eight years old I was troubled about my soul. I spoke with Mr. Goff after a gospel meeting. In light of Romans 6:23 he gave me a pen to illustrate the free gift of eternal life that God offers through Jesus.
At ten years old I was troubled again after hearing of a young boy my age that had drowned. I decided that I needed to be saved right away. That night I brought a flashlight to bed and stayed up reading the Bible. After a long while of not finding anything that I could DO, I was loosing hope of ever being saved. Finally I read in Psalm 46:10. God helped me realize that there is nothing I can do to be saved but that He has done it all, all I had to do is “Be still and know that He is God”. When Jesus was on the cross He took my sin on Himself and paid everything I deserved to pay and was now offering me that free gift of eternal life. That night on the 27th of November 1997, I trusted Him and I thanked God for saving me even though I didn’t, and still don’t deserve it.
Emily Klein: Growing up, I learned through the faithful teaching of His Word by gospel preachers, my Sunday school teachers, and my mother that God desires to have a personal relationship with us. When I was young, I thought I really wasn’t “that bad” and tried to gain God’s favor by being good. There came a moment in my life when I realized I really wasn’t good enough and never would be to earn His salvation. For many years, I was severely scared of the dark and of dying. I knew what the Bible said about the consequences of sin and God’s salvation through Jesus. I struggled for so long trying to believe hard enough, but in doing so I was still relying on my own efforts to be good enough.
One afternoon, talking with my mom and reading many verses together, she walked me through John 3:16 and asked me to read it with my name in it. I read it like this: For God so loved “Emily” that he gave his only begotten Son, that “if Emily” believes in Him, “Emily” should not perish, but have everlasting life. I prayed to God that He would forgive me and save me from my sins. On on February 15, 1997, He saved me. I finally rested in what God said and accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior.
Together: We were commended to the full-time work of the Lord in Mexico in September, 2011 from the assembly that meets in Arlington, WA, USA. Currently, we live in Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit, and are involved in gospel outreach, Bible studies, and children’s work with the local assembly here and surrounding areas. In years past, we have been heavily involved in building projects and maintenance for a few assembly buildings in Mexico.
With His guidance, in recent years we have worked towards building a Christian Discipleship and Trades School Program program called His Workmanship Academy. Jesse aims to disciple young Mexican brothers in Christ according to Mathew 28:19 in a more personal, small group approach. With the help of the Lord, we began by working with three local men who had a desire to dive deeper into Biblical studies, be more active in local gospel outreach, and learn a trade together. We hope to host students full time with us on a property we have purchased for these efforts. Lord willing we will be able to start building permanent facilities soon. We trust that the Lord will use these young men in our care to take the gospel and New Testament doctrine to places we could never reach alone.
